The DC-R range consists of roof mounted horizontal discharge centrifugal fans, incorporating high efficiency backward curved fibreglass impellers driven by an external rotor motor, and a strong galvabond sheet metal or fibreglass casing. The DC-R roof mounted horizontal exhaust fans are therefore suitable for ventilation and exhaust purposes in a variety of industrial and commercial contexts where a horizontal discharge of fumes is requires. This includes building ventilation and exhausts for kitchens, laundries, and bathrooms, and any additional environments requiring the exhaust of unwanted fumes.

Some fan models may not require an adapter kit.
Exhaust fans are integral to a number of environments that require the ventilation of unwanted odours or industrial fumes, preventing the spread of mould and ensuring a more comfortable and breathable atmosphere. This may include bathrooms, kitchens and some industrial contexts which require ventilation to ensure satisfactory air flow. DC-R roof mounted horizontal discharge centrifugal fans provide unique specifications and capabilities, with features that endeavour to solve various ventilation issues. As a horizontal discharge fan, the DC-R range is suitable for expelling smaller amounts of air, and is therefore more suitable to domestic contexts such as bathrooms which are less likely to require the exhaust of noxious fumes. The high efficiency backward curved impeller is manufactured from polypropylene, providing a strong, aerodynamic, and durable fan. This sets the DC-R apart from the DC-FT, as a plastic rather than metal based impeller is more suitable to environments such as bathrooms, toilets, and laundries. The impeller is driven by a external rotor motor, rated to IP54, meaning the motor ensures protection against dust and splash water, ensuring its suitability for both industrial and domestic purposes and verifying long term sustainability. The DC-R range offers 7 different sizes, with either 4 or 6 motor poles. This allows for some variation in the required RPM and torque of the system where motors with a larger number of poles provide more torque at a slower speed. Some models further offer a choice between a single phase and three phase motor, allowing for a greater amount of power if necessary. These roof mounted exhaust fans are enclosed in a fan casing manufactured from either Galvabond sheet metal or UV stabilised fibreglass. Both these casings effectively protect from the unwanted ingress of dirt and water, and can be chosen based on what is best suited to the environment. Galvabond steel is advantageous in its strength and robustness, and is galvanised in order to maximise durability. Fibreglass is similarly strong and resistive to corrosion, in addition to being significantly less dense. UV stabilisation further assures the longevity of the casing, by providing protection from long-term degradation from UV light. This provides a particular advantage in the context of roof mounted fans, which are regularly exposed to large amounts of sunlight.
